Since those two are things we literally cannot hold in our hands, I thought of using them to establish the inevitable at the beginning of the poem. <br /><br />Then I wrote about time as something that we cannot stop. Going from sand...I like the parallels in the poem. Going from sand to water to time to tears. I'd like to know if the sand, water, time and tears tell a parallel beyond the physical.
