When the Mirror Breaks

Pristine and shiny is the looking glass
As it prides in the beauty
Shown on its bosom

Then suddenly, a crack appears
Marring its immaculate face
Distorting what was once pure

The crack carves a path
And runs in all directions
Clawing through the gloss

A last glance at the framed face
Eyes in disbelief
As the glass shakes and disintegrates

Throwing shards, slicing skin
Because there's always blood
When the mirror breaks
