The Fire of Peace

Hey everyone! I'm back. I couldn't thank you enough for still visiting my blog even if I haven't posted a new poem for more than a month. Thank you for all your support. I've been really busy at work and I haven't had time to write a new poem (although I wrote one last week but I'll still polish it before I post it here). But here's another poem from me, something I've dug up. I wrote this poem when I was a high school freshman, and it was published in out school paper. It was inspired by the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001.

The Fire of Peace

The world is full of people
Their hands joined together
For the fire of peace
Which flickered in their hearts
Created a shield from being torn apart.

But as the sun folded its rays
And darkness approached
People held out their guns
And started to destroy the world.
Chaos has then occurred.

Two opposing forces began to fight against each other
Each side wanted to win
All was red with blood and gore
The fire of peace had suddenly died out.
Violence arose.

The nation prays to the Lord
So that the chaos will stop
And people will join their hands together
To end the war, to stop the violence
So the fire of peace will be lit again.
